Board President


Bio:

Jack T. Richert has been a life long resident of Huron Township. This alumnus of Huron High School joined the Board of Education in 2002. Currently, Jack serves as President of the Board of Education. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Behavior and Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University and also a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University. Additionally, Jack is a proud veteran of the United States Navy and is currently the Senior Vice President of Special Tree Rehabilitation System. Mr. Richert is married with three children, all of whom attend or have graduated from Huron Schools.

Board Vice President


Bio:

Mrs. Trena Szawara and her husband have lived in New Boston for almost 30 years. She is Vice President of the Board of Education and a member of the Strategic Planning Committee and Facilities and Needs. Mrs. Szawara served as the President of the Brown PTO for 4 years prior to being elected to the Board of Education. She is employed by AT&T in the communications field. Mrs. Szawara has one daughter and one son who have graduated from Huron Schools and is currently attending Ferris State University. She has two nieces and one nephew at currently attending Brown Elementary School.

Secretary


Bio:

Alice Whited was elected to the Board of Education in 2010. She is not only a Board Trustee she also serves on the Finance Committee. Mrs. Whited is married with two children who attended Huron Schools. She has resided in the community for over 23 years and works as the Senior Account Manager for M.G.I.C.

Board Treasurer


Bio:

Mr.Gill has been a resident of Huron Township since 1999 and was elected to the Huron Board of Education in November of 2012. Mr. Gill is the Board Treasurer and also the chair of the Finance Committee. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and is employed as President and C.E.O. of LASCO Engineering Services of Detroit. Mr. Gill is married and has four Huron graduates.

Bio:

Mr. Cornwall Has been a member of the Huron Board of Education for — years. In addition to being on the Board, he is a former United States Marine and current Firefighter, Paramedic and Wayne County Sherriff CERT Reserve. Me Cornwall works as an instructor and administrator at Wayne County Community College District in the Public Safety programs. Mr. Cornwall has three children, one Huron graduate and two current students.

Bio:

Mr. Ferguson and his wife are lifelong residents of Huron Township and graduated fro Huron High School. After High School, Mr. Ferguson began working full time while continuing his education, earning a degree in applied science in quality systems. He and his wife have raised their two sons in Huron Township. The eldest of the two graduated from Huron High School in 2013 and the youngest currently attends Huron High School.

Bio:

I graduated from Huron High School, class of 1997. I have been married to my wife Cassandra since 2000, we have three children , two in the high school and one in Renton. I am currently employed at AT&T and have been since 2000 as an outside repairman. I was a steward and Vice President of CWA local 4018. I, with the help of my wife and Cory Pengelly, started the New Boston braves youth running club. Along with coaching the run club, I coach the Renton Junior High School Cross Country teams, and have in the past coached basketball.
